Tooth bonding is a way to fix chipped, discolored or damaged teeth as part of our cosmetic dentistry services. It is one of the easiest and least expensive types of cosmetic dentistry. Bonding uses a composite resin that is specifically matched to your shade of teeth. The resin is applied to the affected tooth, shaped and hardened to seamlessly fit to your tooth and often does not need anesthesia. Often one tooth will only take one visit.

Crowns & Bridges
Crowns and bridges are cemented to your teeth for a permanent tooth replacement. A crown covers an entire tooth that is damaged, fractured, weak, discolored or misshapen, and is also known as a cap. In addition, crowns can be used attach a bridge. A bridge replaces missing teeth and covers gaps from missing teeth to prevent shifting of remaining teeth. Crowns and bridges are custom made to fit each patients mouth and can last decades with proper care. It is good to avoid very hard foods or ice which can damage a crown or a bridge. Most crowns and bridges can be done in only 2 visits.
Dental (Tooth) Extractions
Extractions are the removal of teeth. One of the most common types of tooth extraction is removal of the wisdom teeth. When wisdom teeth come in, they may create pain and because is not enough space for them to properly grow therefore must be removed. Other common reasons for extractions include supernumerary (extra) teeth or teeth that cannot be restored due to decay, gum disease or a trauma to the mouth.

Portage Dental offers both full and partial dentures. Dentures (false teeth) are a removable replacement for missing teeth. If you have lost your teeth for any reason, decay, gum disease or an accident, dentures can be custom made for you. With a new set of dentures, you can smile and speak clearly again. In addition they can improve your health by increasing ability to chew and eat again. Dentures require proper care and daily cleaning which our dentists will explain throughout the process.

Digital x-rays are safer with less radiation than a traditional x-ray. With digital x-rays we are able to securely store and share your records instantaneously between dental specialists to provide you with the best service. This reduces wait time of transmitting x-rays to other medical professionals insuring all who are caring for you and your teeth are in communication, especially if emergency care is needed.

Also known as partial dentures, a partial has pink or gum-colored plastic base and is used to replace lost teeth. Like dentures, they are removable and require proper care and cleaning. They are custom fit to the patients teeth. Partials are less expensive than a bridge or dental implant for replacing lost teeth.

Root canal treatments can relieve pain and save your teeth. A root canal is when the pulp (root) of the tooth becomes inflamed or infected. This can be caused by tooth decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth or trauma to a tooth. The root canal treatment removes the affected pulp, cleans and fills the tooth to prevent further damage. This can often be accomplished in 1 or 2 visits.
